Handling Complex International Project Cargo from Start to Finish

In early 2019, Aeronet Worldwide’s Los Angeles station was tasked by its client with moving a shipment of steppers – sensitive semiconductor equipment – door-to-door, from Scotland to East Syracuse, New York. The temperature of the shipment had to be maintained between 18-22° C relative humidity, from pickup to delivery.

Aeronet provided an exclusive air-ride, climate-controlled truck from Scotland to Amsterdam Airport. While at the airport, their local agent processed export clearance while the freight remained on the truck. From there, the freight was transported on a direct, temperature-controlled, flight to JFK Airport in New York.

While the shipment was still in the air, Aeronet completed the U.S. Customs clearance process, and had an air-ride, climate-controlled truck standing by at JFK. This gave them the ability to recover the cargo as soon as it came off the flight, and deliver directly to East Syracuse.

Aeronet’s packing/rigging team (who had already completed a site survey of the destination) took control of the freight upon the truck’s arrival. They uncrated the shipment, and moved it into the facility with specialized forklifts, floor protection, and air (floating) pallets, to minimize vibration. Aeronet also provided the client with temperature reports – data recorded ever since the cargo was picked up from its origin in Scotland.
